I thrive while traveling. My recent adventures include Michigan, Alabama, Utah, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, New York, California, Brazil, Italy, and Jamaica.

I volunteer for some great causes and organizations, which include the American Cancer Society, Edgewood, Missionaries of Charity in St. Louis, and a service project in central Mexico.

I speak four languages: English, Portuguese, French, and Italian.

My yoga journey began by teaching Prenatal Yoga, and later, personally practiced Ashtanga Yoga. In 2015, I got my 200-hour yoga certification through Yoga Alliance. Currently, I teach Gentle Yoga, which includes vinyasa, stretching, balance, and deep breathing, modified for all levels.

Passionate hobbies: I have been skiing in Park City, Utah since my dad taught me at the age of 10. Some of my happiest memories with him were there. I passed on that love to my children, their friends, and mine. My spouse and I love to ski.

I love to swim. It’s good for your core, relieves stress, and offers great cross-training for running.

I enjoy hiking, especially when it includes identifying wildflowers in the spring. Althought my favorite hikes were those in Tennessee in the fall where we went to several different waterfalls.

I paddled the Mississippi River from Alton, IL to St Louis, MO ending at the Arch. I absolutely loved it! I continue to kayak both locally, in Missouri, and up north in Michigan. Buying a composite paddle was a great investment as I now can paddle faster & longer.

Personal Physical Achievements: I completed a Tough Mudder. One ‘n done! It was a ton of fun and such a great team activity! Lastly, I have completed 75Hard twice. It’s a program by 1stPhorm whereby you develop mental toughness while getting in shape over 75 days. It’s hard, but worth it!

Professional Physical Achievements: I coached an older woman through the Senior Olympics and she won all four of the events she entered two years in a row. I trained several clients with disabilities to help them achieve their goals, whether that’s finishing a half marathon or traveling abroad.

Favorite Marathon: My favorite marathon has been the Avenue of the Giants in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It is located northwest of San Francisco and Sacramento, close to the Pacific Ocean. The race route went through the Park and part of the course was by the South Fork River. The morning began with a lovely organic espresso served by a food truck barista. This half and full marathon were big enough to be organized with porta-potties and drink stations but small enough not to be overcrowded. It was so beautiful that I did not care whether I got a personal record or not, in fact, I walked some of it. I might return to do it again someday!
